About

The Healing Ragas show was first staged in 2007, at the Winston Churchill Hall in Ruislip. Dr Sivaram Devaraj and his wife Indira had been keen to organise a musical event showcasing a variety of different South Asian talents and musical styles. They also wanted to raise both money and awareness for a Children’s Hospice providing care and support to young people with life-limiting conditions and their families in their local area, Shooting Star, in Surrey. Mr Vernon Watts, Community Volunteer Manager at the charity supported the idea with great enthusiasm, seeing the event not only as an opportunity to fundraise, but also to spread awareness to a new community in London.

Together with the help and support of some good friends, in particular Mr Narayana Murthy, his wife Latha and their daughter Sandhya, the name Healing Ragas was coined and the event has now become an annual occasion, raising around £4000 each year.
